done this, done that

The week was very exhausting. I had a hectic schedule doing things and stuffs that was expected and planned this week. I am effecting my operative time management skill in doing all these scheduled activities and events. The 1st Volunteers’ Babad. TYG organized the first general assembly for the new volunteers and it was designed to mold and develop volunteers’ holistic being. This month’s babad session was focused on Self-awareness giving importance on Multiple Intelligences. We are really glad that we still have that number of volunteers who attended the session. Unexpectedly, we are surprised of the overwhelming interest of volunteers to serve and to learn more about the cause of the organization. We thought that it will be a trend for the TYG volunteers to be inactive as time of their commitment in the org elapsed. We hope that we can change this tendency. In the conduct of our babad session we are able to let our volunteers stomped the aluminum cans of cola that we have collecte...

life and etc.

While browsing some files on our office computer I found this picture taken last July 7, 2007 during our GeneKewel, it reminds me of how lucky we are to have had organized the event at no expense but only with the collaborative efforts of the volunteers. I just want to share with you how thankful I am for the volunteers who made the Orientation-seminar very inspiring and moving for the new recruited volunteers of the Group. The 2-day event was indeed a success for it really motivates and encourages the Youth to take part in the nation building through educational reform. From left: Mark, the principal, Ate Sandra, the Project Officer of education Development, Ms. Elma B. Rafil, speaker on Working Professionally in an Organization, Sol, TYG English Dept. Head, and Rog, TYG Volunteer Formation Program Head. This coming Saturday, July 28, 2007 , the TYG will be having their 1st Volunteer Babad. It is a half-day gathering of volunteers to enrich and empower each one. It will serve also...

Alone?

Does number determine loneliness? I feel like alone whenever I am with my classmates. It is not because they hate me nor do they have something against me. It’s the feeling that I feel that they do not listen to me. I become true as I express myself to them deliberately too. Maybe I over shown them the real me and I have not anticipated what will it result to them. They resist my being me and keep on letting me feel that I done something wrong and that I disappoint them for what they expect me to be. Feedbacks are always good. It will give you self-awareness so that you can guard your self. It will make also a sound relationship it you listen and open to it. Friendship is really measured on the problems undergone and times you understood and helped each other. It was challenging for me to bring back the amity we have for almost four (4) years. I cannot let a little blot on our relationship ruin the bond we have had. Though I have a number of friends around me, I still suffer the feelin...

Mutya of So. Cot., Tim Yap, and my new banner

Image
Mae, a friend posted a comment on my profile page at friendster and have sent a message to me that says, Mark, you did not tell me that you are a McDonald product endorser . At first I did not understand what her message was all about but when I viewed my profile page and had scrolled-down the window to the corner of comments I got what sh e meant. She said that Tim Yap, a product endorser of McDonald and me resembles similar attributes. I was flattered then about that comment. Tim Yap as Mark Aethen celebrity look-a-like? I just laughed about it. : ) Well, I don't want to flaunt on it. Tim Yap Will you agree with what Mae have said in comparison? ***** We watched the 2007 Mutya of South Cotabato pageant night at the South Cotabato Cultural Gymnasium. It was my first time to see the Gymnasium to be overcrowded by So uth Cotabateños in an event of a beauty competition. It was very surprising that many of our fellow Sou th Cotabateños attended the event. The Gym was really full...

The Order of the Phoenix

HP and the Order of the Phoenix is full of magical battle. I like best the battle between the death eaters and the group of the Aurors including Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, Kingsley Shacklebolt and don't-call-me-Nymphadora Tonks. It brings the magical dimension of the movie into life. It is just sad the Sirius Black have to die. I hate bellatrex lestrange for casting the spell on him. The fifth year of study at Hogwarts School of Harry Potter presents a turning point for him and for his friends. They are no longer children at that pace, they are suddenly faced with the choices and challenges of young adulthood - and the consequences that come with them. Harry's dealing with the return of the one who must not be named and the death of his friend Cedric Diggory has forced him to grow up more quickly than the others and it compelled him to take on the new responsibilities he is facing. A mature character of Harry was portrayed in the movie. Taking a lead to his fellow wiz...

festivities and dunkin donut

Last night we have jammed to the music of the bands who performed at the city's avenue, visited the "Bahay Kubo" exhibit along the alunan avenue - simply showing the ethnicity of the South Cotabateños, enjoyed the free entertainment at the ProTech Center and some time watching people scream at the rides in the Perya . The city's main thoroughfare is the center of events and activities at night. A festive atmosphere is what you can expect as the sun starts to set. Notre Dame of Marbel University, the school where I am enrolled is located at the city's main road, students seem to be enjoying the festival and had declared a week long festival holiday. Classes are sometimes canceled because an event is going on the street and it will simply disturb the lecture and discussion of the class. Consequently, students will not complain for not have the class, they will even celebrate for it. The upcoming activities would be more exciting. *** After participating to the 1st ...

New7Wonders

Image
The New7Wonders organization is happy to announce the following 7 candidates have been elected to represent global heritage throughout history. the result was announced during the Official Declaration ceremony in Lisbon, Portugal on Saturday, July 7, 2007 - 07.07.07. These four (4) places or sites belong to the list. (the other three (3) are in Ariel 's site): The Taj Mahal, India. This immense mausoleum was built on the orders of Shah Jahan, the fifth Muslim Mogul emperor, to honor the memory of his beloved late wife. Built out of white marble and standing in formally laid-out walled gardens, the Taj Mahal is regarded as the most perfect jewel of Muslim art in India. The emperor was consequently jailed and, it is said, could then only see the Taj Mahal out of his small cell window. Petra, Jordan. Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an aud...

Genekewel

I’m too drained and anxious to spew out anything of much interest. However, I contradict myself completely as I will now write something of some interest to some people. Let’s begin with the my encounters this past few days. Last Monday I made a closed deal with the President of the College of Business student council in our University. I got officially at hand the deal to develop a system to automate their information and billing manual system. They'll pay 10K for the development of the system. Right now, I am working on conceptualization of the processes and normalizing the pre-designed database for integration of the requirements they have demanded. On the first week of August will be the dryrun period of the implementation. I hope I can meet the deadline for the development of it. *** Tomorrow is our GeneKewel '07 (Unang Paghabi), a T'boli term which means " the first weaving ". We [T'nalak Youth Group] have had organized a 2-day orientation-workshop fo...

N7W: there'll be new seven wonders of the world

Image
My teacher in high school once asked me, Mark, what are the Seven Wonders of the World ? I confidently answered, "The list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World were: the Pyramids of Giza , the Hanging Ga rdens of Babylon , the Statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus , the Colossus of Rhodes , and the Pharos of Alexandria ". I got it all correct . But on July 07, 2007 (070707) , my answer might be will be wrong as the New Open World Foundation proposes a revision of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World and will announce it officially on the Lucky 7 date. According to Alternative Aprroaches , the campaign started in September 1999 with a website by Swiss businessman Bernard Weber. I, and my blog buddy, Ariel , want to share with you this list of competitors. 07.07.07 is fast approaching. You, too, should cast your votes now to be part of the history. Here's how: N7W . This is copy-pasted from Alternative Approa...

I was nominated to the 2007 SOV

The National Volunteer Movement(NVM) opens the Search for Outstanding Volunteers (SOV) this year. The Search for Outstanding Volunteers is a major activity of NVM that confers awards and special citations to deserving volunteers nationwide. The Search is open to all Filipino citizens and Filipino volunteer organizations. It aims to highlight and recognize the exemplary performance and dedication to service of Filipino volunteers in building strong communities across the country through volunteerism. The University where I am enrolled was affiliated with SEC and been qualify to nominate Individual volunteers and Volunteer-based organizations for the search. The Project Officer for Educational Development, Ms. Sandra Mae Bonrustro nominated me for the said Search. I feel happy about it at first but I am not confident for such nomination. The screening process will undergo a rigid and difficult evaluation. I was nominated for the Youth [Individual] Category where no...
