interfaith prayer rally

Image
If you learn about eye procedures cosmetic surgeons can perform why don’t also learn about participating in nation building? An interfaith prayer rally in celebration of EDSA I and for call and search for TRUTH was organized last February 25, 2007 in Koronadal City . The prayer rally was participated in by the Catholic clergy, Kabataan Party List, Gabriela, Sector of Farmers, and us, the students who participated and represented the few students in the University but declares ourselves us individual supporters. The chamber of Commerce in the Province, and many on truth-side government officials and employees joined the rally. It was mainly organized to awaken the minds of the Filipino people to participate in search for truth and stop corruption. It was lightly organized and ended peacefully with lighting a candle and dancing and singing of the truth. A Piso Para Kay Jun Lozada movement was also made to support him. The rally was entertaining yet substantial. I was rea...

this summer

This summer I might be in Aklan for a vacation. My brother owns a souvenir store in White Castle Beach in Boracay . He invited me after my graduation to spend some few days there to relax and enjoy the summer heat. I hope I can grab his offer. I hope that I will not be stagnant after graduation day. I hope that I will not be a bomb. I hope I will not be broken. I hope I can find time for with him. I have a mixed feeling right now about what will be next after graduation. I feel unease and anxiety. Will I have a job right away? Will I survive the world of work? I feel not prepared. I feel not ready marching. I feel that way, while, my other classmates were excited about the day and ending their days in school. I can hear them talking about their future, their plans, vacation on summer, the facelift Palm Beach , and all sort of things that make them excited.

happy with ur nose?

With my graduation picture, I feel that I am more gifted and bless to have a good face (?). I hope that my picture will be placed on front page of our batch yearbook (Awardees page). While having our lunch at Taberuti , a karenderia near the University where we usually have our lunch, Ate Sandra teased me to for having a not so tall nose. But I teased her back the same because she has a funny shaped-nose which highlight the big dark mole at the tip. We both end up laughing the imperfection of the size and shape of our nose. Though we both have these nose flaws, we are still happy with this nose. We wound not become, Mark and Sandra if the appearance of our nose is different. I don’t understand why there are still Filipinos who are interested in improving the appearance of their noses and seek consultation with facial plastic surgeons. Were they not happy because they were born with that kind of nose? Some reason might be considered for not wanting the nose they have - an i...

image of end

Just this after I got my graduation picture. It was digital and edited. I appear clean and nice-looking in my picture. It was taken by the tessar , the official photo shop of the University. They do photo-editing services, developing, and they also offer video coverage for special events. The photo shop was partnered by our school because they are the only photo shop in Koronadal City that offers cheap and quality photo-editing service. The place is also accessible from the location of the University. My classmates got their graduation pictures also. You laughed at how different we appear in person and in picture. Some really look different because some impurities on their face were removed (edited) by the technology. But, one guy from IT Department feels unfortunate because his damaged and darkened tooth was not edited. He was disappointed because he had a great smile and he love to smile always in picture taking. We advice him to put a tooth veneer made of porc...

planned vacation

Our professor in Art Appreciation class is planning to have his vacation in California this summer. His friend will shoulder all his expenses except the processing of his papers for travel. One of our classmate suggested to him to visit some dive bars in San Diego, California . Jake, our classmate who also a vacation in States brag also about the places he been to in America . He said to our teacher that there are some posh bars that have a good ambiance that will fit to his taste. He added also that there are many chic San Diego lounges and sleek San Diego nightclubs located in the city. He shared also to the class that his uncle brought him once to one of the bars there and he had fun and enjoyed the party people in the place. He naughtily giggles while he is sharing his experience in the class. Mr. John Paul Espino, our professor interrupted him and said, will that’s your experience, mine will be more fun! Every laughs in the room and the lesson continues. I envi...

notre dame, pay for us

Image
In Notre Dame of Marbel University, a 10% tuition fee increase next school year was proposed. It was proposed that the 10% of the tuition increase will go to the teachers’ salaries and improvement of infrastructures and facilities inside the campus. Some students speak up. The Library is too big for a too small internet section to accommodate the need of students. The computers can be described as “de-uling” due to slow internet connection. Students repeatedly voice-out about the presence of some teachers who are not world class , who don’t know how to speak English well and whose method of instruction is too old school for college-level learning. Are we going to expect fewer teachers of these kinds next school year? Those are just a few. The more than 4000 souls may have more than 4000 different concerns intertwined. I understand the University’s rigid annual increases but I hope that they can compensate the amounts we’re paying, and hope that the minimum increase is enough and can ...
