Gabi ng Parangal 2008

GABI NG PARANGAL 2008, organized on March 10 to the comfortably structured gymnasium of the Notre Dame of Marbel University to give recognition to student leaders and achievers in University. It also recognized the best and the brightest talents.

It was the first special awards night organized in the University and it was [very] formal. The administrators and faculties were the people who organized the event for the students. They serve as ushers and usherettes of the nominees in awarding ceremony. It was like an OSCARS Awards – because of the presence of the red carpet, the spotlight, the background sound that thrilled and exited the audience, and the witty and humorous emcee in a event’s formal atmosphere.

Some of the student leaders in the University.
From Left:
Rogello (incoming principal), Moi (outgoing principal), Sol (new assistant principal for tutorials), Jovann ( head of english dept.), and Zerwin (assistant principal for administration) - Received a plaque of recognition for T'nalak Youth Group as an outstanding organization.

I was named as the Most Outstanding Volunteer of the Year for my service as young education-reformist.

I received also the Institutional Leadership Award for outstanding performance as a student leader in and off campus.

The Gabi ng Parangal 2008 is an award-giving body that will annually honors the best Notre Damean in academics, volunteerism, leadership, and as a Marist Individual. It recognizes also outstanding clubs and organizations that greatly contributed to the development of their members and realized their vision-mission.

Now on its first year, I hope that the Awards will gain university-wide acceptance and will become highly anticipated events in the Notre Dame community.

mark has sacrificed a lot for pathways...that's what i know. I've been part of pathways for about three years and I know how difficult it is to be volunteer. being an active pathways volunteer alone is already an honor...mark definitely doesn't need the award to prove himself. i know he would be willing to give it to you if you want it.

Hi NDMU student! I am quoting your statement in which you had mention pathways "The biggest LIE I've ever heard. Hindi ka kinikilabutan? Sin-o ginaloko mo man? You are just using Pathways. Wala mo man gin-obra trabaho mo sa department.". I wonder how much you know about pathways. You are making a foul statement that mark is just using pathways, for what? certainly, I will never allow anyone to use pathways for personal benefits. we are doing things which we know in our own way is helping other people. Mark HAD NEVER USED pathways just to gain an award. I am informing you as well that I was the one who nominated him for the leadership not because he is a friend but because I had seen him work. I think you are the one who uses pathways just to show your angst and personal grudge over mark. Never dare to use pathways again. Should you have a problem on that see me in person (btw, i am the one who handles, supervises pathways)

stud » "The award does not matter. You can have it if you want. What matter is that I know what I done and I believe that I effective change to the lives of the people I touched." The biggest LIE I've ever heard. Hindi ka kinikilabutan? Sin-o ginaloko mo man? You are just using Pathways. Wala mo man gin-obra trabaho mo sa department. I don't want the award because I am not leader. I just did well in my studies and I got better than that. Bahala ka na. Wala na gid man ko mahimo kay kapal kapal ka man gid abi. Sige na lang, ging gastusan ka na gid man lang sang skul para sa medal mo...pa-consuelo n lang ina sang skul sa imo. Kaluoy ka man. Mapalakpak ko pagsaka mo sa stage ah para may-ara maskin isa lang nga magpalakpak sa imo.

well thanks for the feedback. Yep. I look up to myself like that and why would I put my self down. I pity you on that. Thanks anyway for keeping updated and detailed on what is going on my life. Why don't you protest to the awards committee to deliberate again on that matter. The award does not matter. You can have it if you want. What matter is that I know what I done and I believe that I effective change to the lives of the people I touched. Thank you. :)

i'm sorry but you're not on top. you only feel you're on top kasi palagi mo'ng tinataas ang sarili mo. tingnan mo, ang yabang ng sagot mo. ganyan ba ang voluntarism? You doesn't show it in the school. You are joining all the activities to become "sikat." We dont like your attitude here. Wala ka naman talagang mgandang na-contribute eh puro lang para may ipagmalaki ka.
