some thoughts on being happy

One of the main reasons wealth makes people unhappy is that it gives them too much control over what they experience. Then they ( including me ) tend to translate fantasies into reality instead tasting what reality itself has to offer. To fight this is an attitude to keep, putting more value on non-material things. We are constantly told that the way to happiness is through material possessions. “ Men who drive this sport car have all the women after them” , “If I could only own a special tool it would make me happy!” What does a man really want? He wants a feeling that his life makes sense. He wants the give-and-take of loving relationships. He wants to feel he has a place in the world and can make a contribution. And he wants the feeling that he is not standing still, but growing in those ways. Being poor certainly limit our options, but material wealth is an empty seduction. 2008 the year that was

I’ve been meaning to write a Year Ender. I hope that this one is not yet too late to post. 2008 has barely started and it's now an end. Too many things have happened to me--both bad and good--and this is perhaps the best time to write about them as find and retrieve my self again this year of the Ox. I cannot recall everything with precision; but I can, however, create a clear picture of the events that have transpired. What is clear is that I will only write about the most important and significant ones. If I have, for the record, forgotten some very monumental events, then blame it to my being stolen. A lot has happened this year, I can’t even sum up all to one entry. 2008 was a year of milestones and blessings from Him. To list a few significant event, it was the year when: 1. I organized a blog seminar in Marbel 2. SOCCSarGen bloggers society was organized 3. I became an active staunch advocate for equity and quality education 4. I graduated in college 5.
